A Further Study on Vertical Bearing Capacity of Single Pile Based on the Catastrophe Theory

The paper sets up a cusp catastrophe model based on the load-displacement curve of a pile with a vertical load,and then gives out the formula.Through a series of derivation for the formula,it proves that the cusp catastrophe model is suitable for research of vertical bearing capacity of single pile.This method is applied in some practical projects of Shanxi Province and a satisfied conclusion is got by comparing the data with the field measured ones.This theory has important meaning in determining the vertical bearing capacity of single pile.
