The application of dualistic linearity regression in the verification experiment on Newton second law

For certain measurement data,the regression analysis is a method to explore the statistical regularity which is hidden stochastically. By taking into account the effect of the air viscous drag within the pneumatic cushion and the slider, the method of dualistic linear regression is adopted to verify the Newton second law directly. This approach is an improvement on the traditional verification experiment of the Newton second law. Results from this study indicate that direct verification of the Newton second law could be achieved satisfactorily within the permissible range of error.
