An image-feature based method for feature extraction of intra-pulse modulated signals

With the rapid development of electronic technology,there are more and more radar signal systems and modulation modes,and the circumstance of signals become increasingly complicated.As a result,it is difficult for the routine method and theory of recognition to satisfy practical requirement and to recognize radar signals effectively.Aiming at the problem in electronic countermeasure,we put forward a scheme for feature extraction of intra-pulse modulated radar signals.Taking Time Frequency Distribution(TFD) of the radar signal as an image,the method uses image processing algorithm for extracting its singular value.Since Singular Value Distribution(SVD) has good geometrical characteristics,the features extracted are robust to SNR and number of sampling points.The results of test indicated that the method is effective.
