Design and implementation of a platform for networked expert systems development

There is an increasing trend of e-everything given the multiple benefits brought in by the Internet and the Web technology.Expert Systems(ES) are no exception.Web-based expert systems are easy to access from any networked web browser,leading to the wide-spread of expert systems.However,due to the complexity of expert systems and the software tools to develop expert systems,there is a great need to automate this process.Motivated by this,this paper proposes a web and component based method to develop networked expert systems(NES).Based on the requirement analysis,a platform for developing NES called NESP has been designed,which covers the system architecture,main ES constituent element such as inference engine.The work flow of the whole system is described.A prototype system has been implemented.
