Progress in Research of Ethylenediamine Synthesis

The properties and applications of ethylenediamine(EDA) were introduced,and progresses in the research of EDA synthesis from ethylene dichloride(EDC) or monoethanolamine(MEA) were reviewed.The reaction mechanism and process conditions for the EDC process were presented.For the MEA method,amination-reduction process and condensation process over catalysts were emphasized.The effects of active centers,supports and promoters of the catalysts on the reaction were also discussed.The developing tendency and existing problems in this field were analyzed.
