Implementation Methods of Protocol Stacks

Many foreign companies such as Routeware are dedicated to providing source codes of various protocol stacks. However, the protocol stacks have two main drawbacks in networking applications: one is that they are not reliable in security and the other is that they can't satisfy some special requirements, for example, efficiency problem of some special applications. So it's necessary to develop private protocols in some projects. In this paper, based on the analysis of protocol stacks implementation packets of RedHat Linux and Routeware, the authors conclude that there are some principles in the implementation of protocol stacks and give some valuable solusions on the implementation of protocol stacks.
