Construction of multi-band perfect reconstruction filter based on vanishing mement of discrete orthogonoal transform

The relationship between discrete orthogonal transform and multiband perfect reconstruction filter is first revealed,the conclusion that the discrete orthogonal transform is essentially a type of a multi-band filter with perfect reconstruction is then proved.Based on this result,a new method for constructing multi-band perfect reconstruction filter is proposed and the numerical experimentation is achieved for illustrating the validity of proposed algorithm.
