Fast algorithm for direction-of-arrival and frequency estimation based on PM

Based on the propagator method (PM), a novel approach of combining frequency and direction-of-arrival(DOA) estimation in array processing is proposed in this paper. Compared with the conventional approaches, the presented method has lower computational complexity with insignificant performance degradation because of avoiding the estimation and eigendecomposition of the covariance matrix of the received signals. Furthermore, the algorithm can be applied to arbitrary array structures and automatically determines the parameter pair matching. It′s effectiveness is verified via computer simulations.
