Application of Adaptive Equalization Algorithms in Channel Equalization Technology

This paper describes two kinds of nonlinear equalizers,that is,Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE) and Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation (MLSE) equalizer.The channel model is additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel.Both in DFE and linear equalizer (LE),the RLS algorithm and LMS algorithm are used to deal with the data based on block processing.Viterbi--the best decoding algorithm is used in MLSE equalizer.The comparison on performance of bit error rate indicates that,DFE is far better than LE while MLSE equalizer is superior to DFE obviously.Moreover,MLSE equalizer could achieve nearly optimal performance.
