An unequal error protection transmission method based on rate-compatible punctured convolutional coding for adaptive multi-rate wideband(AMR-WB) speech coding over wireless fading channels.According to the encoder data subjective importance, the class A data in AMR-WB codec is protected by the high-protect-capacity punctured convolutional code and the class B data is protected by the high-rate punctured convolutional code. The results show that the unequal error protection can improve the speech performance of AMR-WB codec over wireless fading channels.
