Study on the Measurement Precision of VMM

Taking the measurement of Earth's Rotary Rate(ERR) using Fibre-Optics Gyro(FOG) as an instance,the VMM(Vector Modulation Method) principle is introduced,and the mechanism of VMM is studied.Theoretical analysis and experimental measurement show that the appropriate gain and data algorithm can improve the absolute precision of measurement system,and the relative precision of measurement system is better than its absolute precision.By modulation-demodulation,the VMM will eliminate the measurement errors like bias,draft etc from useful response,and then improves the measurement precision.The theoretical analysis of VMM match the experiment result,so,all measurements have been made properly.
