Technology Research Based on Genetic Algorithm Efficient Block Matching Motion Estimation

Motion estimation is essential for many interframe video coding techniques in MPEG-4 video compression.The Block Matching Algorithm(BMA) is currently widely used in motion estimation,However the existing quick search algorithm are mostly sub-optimal algorithm and get a suboptimal solution.Aiming at this problem,this paper applies the genetic algorithm to block matching motion estimation.The result shows that the algorithm not only solve the problem of being trapped to local optima but also have a relatively small amount of computation.
