Application of D-S Evidence Theory to Dam Safety Monitoring

Dam safety monitoring system is complex as uncertainty exists among various indicators.D-S evidence theory as a mathematical tool has been taken seriously for its advantages in expression and combination of uncertainty.A data fusion method of D-S evidence theory is applied to dam safety monitoring in order to improve the accuracy of dam safety evaluation.A case study is made on monitoring data of Qingtongxia Hydro-complex,and results show that the D-S evidence theory as a scientific safety evaluation method is feasible and effective.
