Context-aware Middleware Framework Based on Ontology

MA Shou-ming · Computer Technology and Development · 2010

Context-aware is one of core technologies of pervasive computing, and the first thing of context-aware is to describe and understand context information.Because of diverse types of context information and different way of perception,to develop application-specific context-aware systems lack a unified mechanism and a common architecture, and increase system development costs.Introduces semantic Web technology to construct common context-aware middleware framework with use of ontology for context information and ontology Web language for context model.A public ontology is provided to achieve a number of independently developed context-aware systems for knowledge sharing and reasoning. As a result,a common understanding with context knowledge is achieved in one domain.
