An Energy Aware Routing Protocol for Ad Hoc Networks

Li Layuan · Microelectronics & Computer · 2009

The Ad Hoc networks is an energy constrained system with the portable devices,it is a very important metric to evaluate the protocols whether which have a longer network lifetime or not.Based on the mobile node energy level and using the different forward tactics,we present an energy aware routing protocol,EARP.By simulating the two routing protocols AODV and EARP,we find EARP has lower energy consumption and longer network lifetime than AODV.
