MBGC of video-on-demand system with popularity based video stream

Scheme for scheduling video programs is one of the key techniques for using I/O bandwidth and network bandwidth effectively.Optimized program scheduling can dramatically improve the video server's performance.In the paper,we describe a system called popularity based on video program,and give a method of scheduling video programs-Movable Boundary and Guard Channel(MBGC).We propose a two-dimension Markov chain to investigate the performance of the scheme.We analyze the model through use of simulation with Matlab6.5.The result shows that the proposed scheme improves the system performances.
