The theory of Generative Lexicon and Chinese Lexical meaning network

The way, in which Natural Language Processing constrains Lexical meaning Network, is analyzed. The property of Contemporary Chinese is observed, then several principles. was proposed which should be complied with in constructing Contemporary Chinese Lexical Meaning Network. These principles are obtained from philosophical abstraction and for engineering realization, namely the Network should have both sufficient generalization and flexible structure. The theory of generative lexicon proposed by Pustejovesky aims at the creative use of word, it argues that lexical meaning derives from it's use, namely from the combination with other words. It is very influential in the area of lexical meaning expression and lexicon generation. It does satisfy the need of constructing Contemporary Chinese Lexical Meaning Network. So, we illustrate the application of these principles, based on The Theory of Generative Lexicon.
