It has been a long application history for the technology of metal parts nesting on a given sheet area. Since the nesting algorithm is a kind of NP complete problems,it is difficult to achieve an optimal solution. For serious competition in market and lack in raw materials resource,enhancing the utilization of material is always one of the efficient ways for many manufacturing enterprises to reduce their cost.The development of this technology has been analyzed and summarized in the text,on the basis of research of current nesting technology.
