Identification of MPSK modulation types using the wavelet transform

Automatic identification of the digital modulation type of a signal has found applications in many areas, including electronic warfare, surveillance and threat analysis. This paper studies the use of wavelet transform to distinguish MPSK signals. The approach is to use the wavelet transform to extract the transient phase information in a MPSK signal, and apply the histogram of the phase information for simple identification. The simulation results verify that this method is effective and correct.
