Image segmentation is the foundation of medical three-dimensional restoration and visualization,which has the important clinical significance for diagnosis and treatment of disease.Nowadays,there are lots of algorithms used to medical image segmentation,however,the appearance of active contour model is an very important breakthrough.Introduces the development course and actuality from parameter active contour model to geometric active contour model,and proposes the research and development orientation of active contour model.
