Function Point Measurement Based on UML Sequence Diagram and Class Diagram

International Function Point User Group (IFPUG)'s Function Point Analysis (FPA) method is of the most popular functional size measurements. However, because of its disadvantages such as manual processing and complex calculation, the results are difficult repeateable. This paper proposes an approach to count and analyze function points, and defines a set of mapping rules to compute FPs from UML diagrams. This method can objectively and automatically measure function points of a software system.
