Process Parameter Optimization for Automatic Fiber Placement

In order to improve the quality of automatic fiber placement,the authors analyzed the main parameters influencing the automatic fiber placement process,including the heating temperature,fiber compaction force and placement head speed. Considering the different laying surface during the process,the team developed a new method to evaluate the quality of the process. The influences of these parameters on the automatic fiber placement process were investigated by this method. Meanwhile,by using response surface method,optimal parameters were found as follows: heating temperature T is 29.38 ℃,fiber compaction force F is 11.65 N/mm and fiber placement head speed v is 84.34 mm/s.
