Code transmission is a key technology to implement application reconfiguration in wireless sensor networks. Two kinds of code transmission paradigms for environment adaptive application reconfiguration(EAAR) model were studied:Pull paradigm and Push paradigm.Combining the advances of Pull and Push,an energy-efficient cluster-based hybrid code transmission(CHCT) was proposed which was used in cluster-based wireless sensor networks. In this hybrid paradigm, cluster heads acquire codes from base station with Pull mode;and nodes in cluster transfer codes with Push mode.Extensive simulations were conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method proposed and the effects of key parameters on CHCT were discussed.
