Objective To explore the contribution of inferior colliculus to the brainstem auditory evoked potential(BAEP) in adult rats. Methods The amplitude ratio of BAEP were recorded in adult rats whose left inferior colliculus had been impaired by electrolytic lesion, and the results were compared with those in normal rats. Results The bilateral amplitude ratio of Ⅳ/Ⅰand the right lateral amplitude ratio of Ⅴ/Ⅰwere significantly lower than normal values(P0.05).Conclusion The inferior colliculus might be involved in the development of the wave Ⅳ and wave Ⅴof rat′s BAEP,acting on the development of wave Ⅳ bilaterally, but contralaterally on the development of wave Ⅴ.
