Spatial association mining (SAM) can be used to find, explain or predict spatial phenomenon or events. It offers the effective means to solve some complex problems in many fields. It gets some practical and common methods in spatial association mining. Then an experiment about traffic accident is done. Some latent traffic accident evoking rules are gotten through mining, which are valuable and credible. The application of SAM in traffic field is of great significance to the layout, management and decision-making.
