Restoration algorithm of visible scout images degraded by fog

The visible images in the target area which are obtained by scout equipment under fog conditions can not satisfy the commanders for the battlefield target recognition because of the poor contrast of the images.Firstly,a degraded model for the long distance images in foggy days is established based on the atmospheric scattering theory.Secondly, the optical depth for the visibility change is calculated according to the visibility, wavelength, depth of field and so on.Finally, some degraded visible scout images are restored in order to validate the effectiveness and practicality of this method.
