A WLP-MDCT Based Hybrid Audio Coding Algorithm

This paper introduces a hybrid audio coding algorithm which is based on Warped Linear Prediction (WLP) and Modified Discrete Cosine Transform(MDCT) techniques. WLP technique is employed to construct a pre- and post-filter, where the pre-filter could reduce the pre-echo resulting from MDCT coding and the post-filter is used to shape the quantization noise spectrum so that the subjective perceptual quality of reconstructed audio signal can be improved. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is effective and feasible.
