While the brilliant achievements in science and technology are obtained the lessons on understanding and reforming nature are drawn by human. The lessons are mainly from natural disasters. Based on the information from MRNatCat SERVICE and other statistical data, the main characteristics and distributions of global natural catastrophes in the 20th century ale briefly reviewed, and the primary causes of the natural catastrophes in the world are analyzed as well.
