Definition and Determination on Relevance of Evidence

Both definition and determination on relevance of evidence must be based on the basic function of evidence.The relevance comprises two sub-levels-formal relevance and substantial relevance,which respectively affects the competency and value of evidence.Different methods are employed to determine the relevance depending on whether the evidence is direct or indirect and the basic rule is modern principle of discretional evidence.
