Key-management Scheme for Large Dynamic Group

Multicast is an efficient communication paradigm to many group-oriented applications in the Internet. In order to offer secrecy for multicast applications, the traffic encryption key has to be updated in time whenever a user joins or leaves the group. It is a big challenging problem to distribute and update the group key efficiently in a large dynamic group. In the paper,a new key-management scheme based the logical-key tree is proposed, which introducing the one-way function、XOR operation and the pseudo-random function、reducing the key storage requirement of a group controller and optimizing the key updating communication. It is proved that the new approach has obvious superiority than that of the previously proposed schemes and is more suitable for large dynamic group.
