Experimental Study on Improvement and Development of Pearl River Estuary

The Pearl River Estuary has many outlets with interlaced river network and complicated flow condition. It is essential for the experimental study on the improvement and development of Pearl River Estuary to realize synchronous control of the outlets and explore the causes and mechanism of formation of river sediments under complicated silt - discharge condition along with taking proper engineering measures for improvement. In this paper the authors presents the automatic control system successfully developed lately by the Scientific Research Institute of PRWRC and some results achieved from the experimental study, which provides scientific basis for the improvement and development of the Pearl River Estuary.
