Objective To explore the diagnostic value of sound velocity(SV)in different sections for differentiating breast solid lesions. Methods Two hundred and thirty-two patients with 248breast neoplasms were included.By zone speed index technique,SVs of the lesions in transverse section, longitudinal section and the section with larger SV were calculated.According to pathologic findings,ROC was constructed and analyzed. Results SVs in transverse section, longitudinal section and the section with larger SV were statistically different between benign and malignant breast lesions(all P0.05).The area under curve(AUC)of ROC in transverse section, longitudinal section and the section with larger SV was 0.77,0.80,0.83,and the Youden index was 0.48,0.55,0.60,respectively.There was significant difference between AUC of transverse section and the section with larger SV(P0.05).The cut-off point of SV in the section with larger SV was determined as 1547m/s,and the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy was 73.08%(57/78),87.06%(148/ 170)and 82.66%(205/248),respectively.Conclusion SV in transverse section, longitudinal section and the section with larger SV could be used to differentiate benign and malignant lesions in breast.SV in the section with larger SV has best diagnostic value.
