Simulation and Analyzsis of Packet Scheduling Algorithms of Network QoS

Ying Qi-jia · Jisuanji fangzhen · 2007

With the rapid development of Internet,real-time traffic calls for higher quality of services in the network.Packet scheduling is a key technology in QoS control.Packet scheduling discipline is needed to determine the packets scheduling order and how to share the network link bandwidth. This paper presents an advanced packet scheduling and resource management model: link-sharing model, and two implementation algorithms: CBQ and HPFQ.HPFQ provides both tight delay bounds for real-time sessions and the full semantics of hierarchical link-sharing service. This paper uses two algorithms for real-time flow transport, and a network simulation tool called NS2 is used to simulate and analyze the real-time flow performance.
