Smart cards play a passive role in existing smart cards system.Furthermore, smart cards should be used with compulsory devices. This will eventually limit its potential. After analyzing the existing smart cards system,a novel smart cards system based on Bluetooth is proposed. The proposed system has many merits: both sides play an active, equal role in the new system;it lets mutual data transmission between users;it is convenient to use it and it is also very easy to be connected through network.Application modes, transaction flows such as on-line and off-line flow are also introduced. The system prototype based on Bluetooth in laboratory shows reasonable results and demonstrates the feasibility of the new system.
