Layer-based Unequal Clustering Algorithm of Sensor Networks

Sensor networks usually consist of a large number of ultra-small sensor nodes with limited energy.So,how to prolong the sensor network lifetime is critical.In this paper,based on the rectangular deployment field,we propose a layer-based unequal clustering algorithm for sensor networks.The width of the layer is decided by node energy consumption.Simulation results show that layer-based unequal clustering algorithm can effectively extend the lifetime of the sensor network.
