Research on Optimal Adaptive and Fixed-codebook Search of G.729

G.729 is a standard of low bit-rate speech coding produced by ITU(International Telecom Union).The speech of high quality is reconstructed by filtering the excitation made up of adaptive-codebook and fixed-codebook through the synthesis filter.Because complex algorithm consumes too much time, the recommendation can′t be realized on DSP for real-time.The two important parts of G.729 are analyzed and optimized to reduce the computational complexity.The results indicate that the quality of the speech changes little.
