The Originality and Defects of Transformational Generative Grammar

Transformational Generative Grammar was proposed by Noam Chomsky in the end of the 1950s.It provided many initiative opinions concerning linguistics and language learning,for instance,human beings are born with the language faculty and they can create endless utterances,so it was once regarded as a revolution in the linguistic field.However,it can not explain some problems people meet in their actual process of learning a foreign language,for example,why can't they have the same language ability since they are all endowed with the language faculty according to the theory?Therefore,there are some defects in the TG Grammar.
