The Study Status and Development Trend of Transgenic Technology in Maize

Since the advent of fertile transgenic maize from 1990,the transgenic technology in maize has been the focus on the study of transgenic crops in the world which has played a huge role in maize breeding. With the transformation methods of mediated agro-bacterium,particle bombardment and pollen tube pathway,the single and multiple functional genes of different sources are transformed into maize,and thus some important agronomic traits in maize would be hereditarily improved. Great progress has been made in breeding new genetically modified varieties in herbicide-resistant,insect-resistant,disease-resistant and stress-resistant etc. This study discussed the research progress of transgenic technology in maize,and put forward some new views about the problems in breeding.
