Design and Implementation of a File System with QoS Feature

This paper provided a review of the data access mechanism of hard disk, and described the characteristics of streaming media files and its requirement of quality of service ( QoS). Based on the new ATA/ATAPI Steaming Command Set, a streaming file system with QoS feature was designed and implemented on Linux, which supports control to priority and transfer rate of streaming files, and keeps the software architecture reasonable in the mean time.
