Improved synthesis of simvastatin,a descendens blood fat drug

Aim To improve the synthetic process of simvastatin.Methods Simvastatin was synthesized from lovastatin by hydrolysis,cyclization,protection,esterification and deprotection.Results and conclusion The structures of the intermediates and the target compound were confirmed by 1H-NMR.The total yield was 76.3%.The preparation process of the intermediate 3 and target compound 1 are also improved.The operation of the synthetic route is convenient and might be applied to industrial production.
