Non-Intrusive Available Bandwidth Measurement Scheme in Ad Hoc Networks

To accurately estimate the available bandwidth in Ad Hoc network, we proposes a new available bandwidth definition method. We get the path available bandwidth of the investigated node by periodically storing the NAV values of its neighbor nodes. To avoid large statistical difference within a measurement duration, we further handle the obtained results with EWMA(Exponentially Weighted Moving Average)model. The performance analysis and numerical results show the proposed scheme is accurate and can effectively reflect the collision and contention between nodes.
