Comparison of image denoising techniques based on MATLAB software

Various noise was existed when an image was used in an application process,at the same time,many difficulties were produced with it in the following region splitting and image processing work.So the image denoising was essential in the image processing.Three techniques of image denoising(mean filtering,median filtering and adapt filtering) were analyzed and compared based on MATLAB software in this paper.The results showed that the mean filtering was suitable for removing the gaussian noise;the median filtering was appropriate for removing the saltpepper noise,and protected the boundary well;compared with the first two techniques,the adaptive filtering had a better selectivity,fit for removing the gaussian noise.Meanwhile,three methods could remove the noise well in a far image or close-up image.
