Pattern of implementation of protocol mapping in Parlay/OSA gateway

One of the key functions of Parlay/OSA(open service access) gateway is mapping telecommunication protocols in Parlay/OSA API.3GPP TR 29.998 serial specifications specify mapping methods and parameters between protocols such as CAP,MAP,SIP and Parlay/OSA API,but how to implement it is not mentioned.OMG CORBA/TC interworking and SCCP Inter-ORB Protocol Specification give an implementation model of interworking between TC/SS7 based entities and CORBA based entities.Because most Parlay/OSA gateways are implemented on CORBA,implementation of protocol mapping in Parlay/OSA gateway can learn much from CORBA/TC interworking model.Based on the comprehensive understanding of the TCCORBA specification,a pattern of implementation of protocol mapping in Parlay/OSA gateway is proposed.The architecture and work scenario of the pattern is described and its characteristics are analyzed as well.Those who will implement protocol mapping in Parlay/OSA gateway will benefit from this pattern.
