Face Recognition System Based on Spectrofaces and Fisherface

A face recognition method based on spectrofaces is used.Spectroface representation combines the wavelet transform with the Fourier transform.We have shown that by decomposing a face image using wavelet transform,the low-frequency face image is less sensitive to the facial expression variations.By decomposing the low-frequency face image using Fourier transform,we can get the face image with lower-dimensional space.But the dimension of the spectrofaces is still high,so we extract the character of Fisherface from the spectrofaces,in order to reduce the dimension,and enhance the efficiency.The ORL face database was used in the experiment and the result shows that the method presented is effective.
