The Explanatory Power of Relevance Theory and Schema Theory to Reading Comprehension

Relevance theory and schema theory are very powerful in explaining reading comprehension.The factors that influence reading comprehension include poor short-term memory,improper abstracting strategies,and lack of encyclopedia knowledge.In the light of this,this article,under the direction of theories of relevance and schema,proposes the corresponding reading pattern title-problem-text,so as to make use of the advantages and merits of this pattern in actual teaching and promote the teaching of reading comprehension.
