A Study of an Improved Adaptive Burst Assembly Mechanism
Peida Ye · Optical Communication Technology · 2005
Proposed in this paper is an improved adaptive burst assembly algorithm. Simulations are conducted to validate out algorithm. The simulation results show that the improved algorithm can decrease the similarity of the output traffic more efficiently than the Max-Time-Max-Length assembly algorithm does. The burst length created by improved algorithm changes less than that of the unimproved assembly algorithm. These all can enhance the performance of the OBS networks. The studies also show that the delay of assembled packets is changed with the degree of the similarity.
