Application of Information Entropy Theory to Commanding Organization Structuring in Fire Emergency Scene

Zhang Fu-dong · Safety and Environmental Engineering · 2011

At present, the modes of the commanding organization structuring in fire emergency scene are summarized from the practices of the emergency rescuing work. They can provide some advices for emergency rescuing in practice. But they are short of system and depth in theory and also short of effective assessment. In order to find a more effective commanding organization, this paper quoted the calculating method of information entropy theory and set up two typical commanding organizations. The timeliness and quality of information transferring of the two organizations were calculated and contrasted individually. The results showed that the timeliness and quality of four levels of commanding organization are all better than those of the three levels of commanding organization when the participant strength is constant. The following conclusion can be drawn that the information entropy theory can be quoted to assess the commanding organization quantitatively in fire emergency scene.
