Semi-synthesis of simvastatin

Simvastatin was semi-synthesized from lovastatin through the aminolysis,selective silylation,alkylation and desilylation reactions.Its structure was identified by elementary analysis,infra-red specturm,ultra-violet spectrum,NMR spectrum and MS spectrum.
