Design and implementation of lightweight network layer routing based on IEEE 802.15.4

IEEE 802.15.4 is a standard designed for low-rate wireless personal area networks(LR-WPAN).It attempts to provide a low data rate,low power,and low cost wireless networking on the device-level communication.This paper designs a lightweight network layer routing protocol based on IEEE 802.15.4 and implements it on ZigBit 900 platform.The routing protocol is originated from AODV but simplified which detects link connectivity with MAC layer's acknowledgement.At last,the routing protocol is tested and the result shows that it has good performance and expansibility.
