Parallel Computing of Buffer Analysis Based On Grid Computing

Based on the Grid Computing, a parallel algorithm about buffer analysis is presented detailed in this paper to elevate this function's efficiency. Considering most GIS buffer analysis is data intensive computing, the task was decomposed according to the map layer and geographic spatial area. An experiment system was designed to realize the urban road planning using buffer analysis based on the environment of Grid that has been built. The results of experiment show that buffer analysis based on the Grid Computing has clearly advantage in efficiency.
